Additional Details

Eight inch horizontal pvc dry hydrant strainer with PVC back flush cover. The horizontal back flush is the preferred strainer which allows the pvc line to be back flushed. Debris that enters from roadside hydant fitting opening can be removed by reverse flushing the line into the water source. The back flush flap will open to aid in releasing debris. Back flush flap is drawn closed during suction operation. Install so that flap hangs down due to gravity. Shipped with removable PVC 8" x 6" reducer.

This strainer is installed with the strainer holes facing down.
